I grew up in Skokie, a suburb of Chicago, Illinois. I studied at Northeastern Illinois University, where I majored in Spanish. I had the wonderful experience of living and working in Mexico for 28 years. I taught English as a foreign language and served as interpreter and translator at the Modern Language Institute in Leon, Guanajuato. I returned to the United States in 1995 and graduated from the University of Houston. This is my 11th year in Alief. I have taught bilingual 3rd grade and middle school Spanish, as well as ESL. At Albright I served as ESL Department Chair for four years. In addition to my teaching duties, I co-sponsored the Multicultural Club for two years. I have also been on several additional committees, such as Faculty Advisory and Shared Decision Making. I currently serve on the LPAC committee, as well as the Above and Beyond committee. I have enjoyed mentoring new ESL teachers through the years. When I'm away from school I spend most of the time with my family. My hobbies and interests include travel, reading, gardening, and home improvement. At school I strive to create a positive climate in my classroom, where students, other staff members, and parents feel welcomed and supported.
Welcome to my web page! At Albright my goal is to successfully integrate my ESL students from various backgrounds into the mainstream of their school and our society.
